I am the fearless leader of the pack. My name is John, and I have been passionately exploring the great outdoors since the age of 25, following the completion of my military training. In the military, we have a saying "If you make a mistake your friend dies" Here are Trusted Outdoor Gear, we say "If you choose the wrong gear, your adventure is screwed". We take this saying seriously, and we are committed to providing accurate information that you can rely on in the great outdoors.
As an avid camper, I relish in the countless adventures that await in the untamed wilderness, sometimes solo and sometimes sharing the experience with cherished friends and loved ones. The sheer exhilaration of being immersed in nature ignites a fire within me.
Throughout my life, I've had the opportunity to explore numerous countries, whether it be for leisure or in my roles as Director of Technology and later as CEO of a manufacturing and distribution company in Asia. Regardless of my location, I have always sought the thrill and exhilaration that the great outdoors has to offer.
Over the years, I've engaged in a variety of outdoor pursuits, including mountain climbing, hiking through untamed wilderness, skiing, swimming and canoeing, and indulging in the art of fishing, both at sea and with a fly. These experiences have enriched my life and allowed me to connect with nature in profound ways.
Our outdoor pursuits are simple and soulful. We pursue activities outdoors that can also appear to be mundane, but to us offer a sense of fulfillment and togetherness, such as having outdoor sports and recreation, including footballs, Frisbee, bird watching, and even BBQ, sometimes in our backyard, and even fishing - yes fishing!
I live in a house approximately 2 km from the sea. Behind the house, there is a canal that flows to the sea. And with every high tide, the canal water level would increase up to a meter in depth. This surge of water brought along various species of fish, mostly small fishes, and occasionally even turtles. I used to fish right from our backyard, and on fortunate occasions, I would manage to catch a few fish. However, instead of keeping them, we would release them back into the water as we do not intend to harm them.
I purchased a sleek kayak with fixed seats, oars, and foot pedals, primarily for occasional trips to the beach. However, my main delight comes from fishing while on the kayak, rather than rowing. It has consistently provided me with countless hours of enjoyment out on the open sea, basking in the glorious sunlight. Honestly, I like kayaking too.
I purchased this sleek kayak with a fixed seat, oars, and foot pedals. Assembled the kayak right in my living room. It is one of the best investments I have made for Outdoor Gear. Couldn't sleep the whole night.
